Geographic Information Systems (GIS) utilizes the process of data layering and database attributes in an effort to spatially orient company personnel, business partners, investors and related individuals. Attributes depicting pipelines, parcel data, roads, and oil and gas wells are just a some of the examples of spatial information that can be geo-referenced in mapped formats for presentations or website displays.
Intensive geologic analysis uses the same techniques but with different datasets such as well-log analysis for subsurface interpretations. Other contributing datasets, such as seismic, aeromagnetic, gravity and radiometric sources can also be displayed in mapped 2D and 3D formats in order to characterize basins and areas of interest. Faults and surface fracture lineaments can be interpreted from subsurface analysis and SRTM (RADAR) data sources as an addendum to the complete geologic interpretation.
All data sources can then be assembled into a detailed report or portfolio with montage layout for distribution. AVI movies can be constructed of all 3D datasets for presentation or website display.
