As an undergraduate, you will have to work with both our office and AU Abroad. Ìý Applying for a Boren Scholarship and applying to study abroad are different and separate processes, and failure to consult appropriately with AU Abroad can have negative consequences. Ìý
We strongly encourage Boren scholarship applicants to submit first drafts of their essays by theÌýNovember deadline. ÌýHowever, we will assess latecomers on a case-by-case basis. Ìý

We encourage potential applicants to complete and submit a "Proposal Development Exercise" by the middle of November--this document aids you in thinking about your application and aids us in providing appropriate guidance. ÌýÌý
We ask all applicants to submit draft essays by the beginning of January, and will prioritize working with the students who have done so in the final stretch leading up to the national deadline in late January.
