- Yes, students who are currently enrolled inÌýÌýare encouraged to apply for the Boren Scholarship to fund their Capstone program. Please reviewÌýThe Language FlagshipÌýsection of this website for more information.
2. I am a community college student. Is this program for me?Ìý
- Yes. Community college students - both two-year and transfer - are particularly encouraged to apply for the Boren Scholarship. If you are a transfer student who would like to study abroad next fall and/or spring, you should apply from your community college, indicating to which institution you will transfer.
3. Must I study overseas? Could an online program count as my proposed Boren program?Ìý
- Yes. Ãå±±½ûµØ funds overseas study. There are some programs like the Regional Flagship Language Initiatives and the optional domestic award for Fellows, but Boren is not for online programs. We want you out of the country and experiencingÌýthe culture, as well as learning the language.Ìý
4. I have never traveled or studied abroad before. Should I apply?Ìý
- Yes. In fact,Ìýyou are encouraged to apply! One of the objectives of the Boren Scholarship is to expand international educational opportunities for students who have not studied abroad and who may require financial assistance to do so. Please work closely with your study abroad office and your Boren campus representative who can provide support as you apply for scholarship assistance.
