" I owe the Boren Fellowship for the success of my research project and for my current employment in federal service. I was able to invest time and funds into my linguistic research in Senegal that I would never have had access to otherwise. The program's commitment to critical languages of Africa links students from varying disciplines to places and cultures that are often under-studied in American schools and universities. It offers a wonderful learning experience for cross-cultural education and is a chance to make lasting personal connections far overseas. My work serving the American people is complemented by the appreciation for cultural and linguistic diversity that I gained during my fellowship."
