About Jeanne:

Jeanne Choi was a 2016 Boren Fellow to Japan where she studied Japanese and conducted research for her doctoral dissertation on the role of energy transition. Following her Boren Fellowship, Jeanne received her Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in 2022. Jeanne fulfilled her service, and continues to work as an analyst in the Office of Economic Analysis in the Bureau of Intelligence and Research (INR) at the Department of State.Ìý

"The Boren Fellowship gave me the unique opportunity to combine rigorous language instruction with fieldwork research, and my quickly improving language skills helped with my research as well. When I returned, it opened the door to a job in which I can make use of my skills, including the enhanced language and research abilities I was able to cultivate during my time as a Boren Fellow. Boren is truly a wonderful opportunity to develop or broaden your global understanding and language skills."Ìý
