"My time as a Boren Fellow in Brazil changed me for the better. While living in Brazil, I had the opportunity to attend conferences where I met scientists from all over Brazil and was able to learn about research happening across the country, I formed lasting friendships with Brazilian scientists and my language tutors, and I was able toÌýexperience Brazilian culture, including Afro-Brazilian culture. Being a Boren Fellow also helped me obtain a job as a Biologist with the DoD. I am eternally grateful for the time I spent as a Boren Fellow in Brazil, and will cherish that experience for the rest of my life."
